Zethal is the framework we built ourselves to run MevaSearch. It is written in PHP on the server and plain JavaScript in the browser, without heavy frontend frameworks, so pages stay fast and we stay in full control of what happens with your data.
Every part of MevaSearch, from combining search results to rendering the settings page, runs on Zethal.
Combines results from the Brave Search API, our own WebAtlas index, the independent Mojeek index and Wikipedia, adds specialist sources for code, science, books and security, and ranks everything with its own navigational and quality rules.
Connects MevaSearch to Claude by Anthropic for summaries, chat, related searches and photo search. Requests leave our servers without any account details.
Sends queries to external providers from our servers, without your IP address. No tracking cookies, our own PriviMetrics statistics and a proof of work check instead of image CAPTCHAs.
NetKrypton warnings about scam websites, dead link markers and removal of tracking parameters from links before you click.
