Search Engine Settings

Customize the appearance and behavior of MevaSearch.

General

Each link will open in a new browser tab.
Display small icons next to the result URLs.
Display result titles using colors derived from each website's favicon, rather than the default link color.
Display a short text snippet below the result title.
Show thumbnails next to the search results.
Show star ratings next to search results.
Under the first result from a search engine or a site with search (YouTube, Wikipedia, shops…) shows a field to search that site directly.
Under every matching result, or only under the first few.
Shows a row of videos matching your query among web results.
Shows a row of matching freely licensed images among web results, when relevant ones exist.
Groups forum threads (Reddit, Stack Overflow, Hacker News, forums…) into a separate block in the results.
Marks top results whose page no longer works and links to an archived copy.
Removes ad and tracking parameters (utm_*, fbclid, gclid…) from result links and copied links.
Let visited websites know you came from MevaSearch. When disabled, your traffic source will be hidden.

Features

Show a verification badge next to government websites in the results.
Show a CloakView button next to each result: it opens the page through MevaSearch instead of connecting you to the site directly.
Open YouTube videos in the built-in player instead of YouTube.
Show a floating search bar when scrolling past the header on results page.

Home Page

Show customizable quick links below the search bar.
Show the current weather and a 3-day forecast for your town every time you open the home page.
Add a postal code if several places share the name, e.g. Nowa Wieś 86-253.
Show the current exchange rates of the currencies you pick, converted to your currency.
Pick which currencies to show. Your own currency is skipped.
The rates are shown in this currency. Automatic follows the app language.
Show the latest headlines from MevaSearch News under the search bar.
Which edition of MevaSearch News to show. Automatic follows the app language; unsupported languages get English (US).

Home Page Background

This is how the home page background will look with the selected decoration and effects.

Combine with any background decoration. Live weather needs the town set for weather on the home page.
Overlay a fine noise texture on the background for a tactile feel.

Pauses background animations on low battery, in data saver mode or when the device can’t keep up.

Searches

The tab that opens first for a new search.
Show the Images tab in the search navigation bar.
Show the Videos tab in the search navigation bar.
Show the News tab in the search navigation bar.
Show the Music tab in the search navigation bar.
Show the Podcasts tab in the search navigation bar.
Show related search suggestions below the results.
For cities, villages and countries: photos, weather, local time, currency rate and places nearby in the Wikipedia panel.

Privacy & Security

Highlight and redirect dangerous domains detected by NetKrypton.
Completely remove flagged results from the list instead of just marking them.
Filter adult content from the search results.
Show adult-only suggestions in search suggestions.
Locks SafeSearch to Strict and requires a password to change.

Enable Kids Mode

Set a password that will be required to disable Kids Mode or change SafeSearch to Off or Moderate.

Kids Mode

Enter the Kids Mode password to disable protection and unlock SafeSearch settings.

Change Kids Mode Password

First enter your current password, then set a new one.

AI Summaries

Show an AI-generated summary above web search results.
Hides all AI buttons: AI search, photo search and AI buttons in suggestions and results.

Prefix

Automatically redirect search results through your own proxy, read-later service, or gateway by entering its URL here.

Region & Language

Prefer search results from a selected country.
Change the language of the application interface.

Appearance

Choose a light, dark, or system-adaptive theme.
Select the visual style used across MevaSearch.
Choose which font is used across the app.
Use a different font for headings and the logo than the rest of the app.
